Our Elders

Our elders meet all the requirements found for Biblical elders in 1 Timothy 3:1-7 and Titus 1:5-9, and act according the instructions for elders found in 1 Peter 5:1-3 and Acts 20:28-32.




1 Tim. 3:1-7:

Aspires to the office,

Above reproach,

Husband of one wife,

Temperate,

Prudent,

Respectable,

Hospitable,

Able to teach,

Not addicted to wine,

Not pugnacious,

Gentle,

Peaceable,

Free from the love of money,

Manages his household well,

Keeps his children under control,

Not a new convert,

Good reputation.


1 Pet. 5:1-3

Shepherds the local flock,

Exercises oversight without compulsion,

Exercises oversight according to the will of God,

Does not lord it over the flock,

An example to the flock.

Titus 1:5-9:

Above reproach,

Not accused of dissipation,

Not accused of rebellion,

Above reproach as God’s Steward,

Not self-willed,

Not quick-tempered,

Not addicted to wine,

Not fond of sordid gain,

Hospitable,

Loving what is good,

Sensible,

Just,

Devout,

Self-controlled,

Holds fast the faithful word,

Exhorts in sound doctrine,

Refutes those who contradict sound doctrine
