A Proverb for the Day (11:9)
June 18th, 2009“With his mouth the godless man destroys his neighbor, But through knowledge the righteous will be delivered” (Proverbs 11:9 NASU). Godless people use words to destroy and tear others down. They practice lies, deceit, gossip, and slander. Many people’s self-esteem has been destroyed by the lies and deceit of others. They replay the unkindness in their minds until it becomes as truth to them. The righteous, however, have a defense against the words of godless people: knowledge. They know they are living according to God’s standard and that is what is truly important, not what godless people think and believe.
