A Proverb for the Day (11:4)
April 29th, 2009“Riches do not profit in the day of wrath, But righteousness delivers from death” (Proverbs 11:4 NASU). The pursuit of wealth is ultimately worthless. It will not help us in the end. God really does not care about money (cf. Ezekiel 7:19). What He cares about is how we have lived our lives (Ecclesiastes 12:13-14) and how we have obeyed His will (Matthew 7:21-23, John 12:48).Righteousness is the only thing that will help us in this regard. Righteousness can deliver one from anything; it is the possession and wealth we really need. Money is just something to get us by until we can die and be with God.
