A Proverb for the Day 10:23
March 5th, 2009“Doing wickedness is like sport to a fool, And so is wisdom to a man of understanding” (Proverbs 10:23 NASU). There are many who amuse themselves and occupy their time with wickedness. Some people brag about their ability to cheat (e.g., in games or on their taxes), some on their ability to lie, and some about the amount of extra-marital sex they have had. Some people amuse themselves with porn, some with dirty jokes, and some with gossip. Fools delight in wickedness not knowing where it is going to lead them: shame, regret, lost jobs, lost friends, prison, broken families, sexually transmitted diseases, and eventually hell. Instead, we should find our enjoyment in wisdom (i.e., God’s Word, righteous living, etc.).
