A Proverb for the Day 10:12

February 17th, 2009 by Jeremy Sprouse

“Hatred stirs up strife, But love covers all transgressions” (Proverbs 10:12 NASU). Hatred leads us to think the worst of others and look for wrongs done to us. There may be no occasion to argue or fight with another, but if you hate someone you will often find a reason to anyways. Hatred leads us to think the worst of others and look for wrongs done to us. In contrast, love overlooks wrongs done for the good of others (cf. 1 Corinthians 13:4-7). Our lives will have much less stress and we will have a more positive and peaceful life if we will stop thinking the worst of others and start loving them.
